Support Workers

Universal Healthy Minds t/a Universal Integrated Services are recruiting Support Workers to join our Supported Accommodation services for young adults leaving care, some of whom may have learning difficulties and Mental Health needs. The role includes helping them in developing key skills and to continue to thrive healthily and happily in life.

Our head office is in West Bromwich, West Midlands and our support worker roles are within the West Midlands.

Our support worker roles are within the West Midlands

  • £11 per hour
  • Permanent, full-time hours available, 37.5 hours per week
  • Day shifts: of 8am-8pm & night shifts: 8pm -8am

As a Support Worker, you will be supporting and enabling young people to live independently with e.g.

  • professional support/care experience or personal experience of caring for/support someone in their activities of daily living - essential
  • Full driver’s licence – desirable but not essential.
  • Having an empathic, encouraging, caring, positive personality – essential
  • Good communication skills - essential

Support Worker - Criteria

  • Daily living and independent skills
  • Aiding communication
  • Providing emotional and behavioural support
  • Keeping active, Accessing the community, and taking part in activities
  • Socialising
  • Medicine management i.e. working with health professionals to support any medical needs, including making and attending any necessary appointments or administering medication.
  • Budgeting: including day to day money management and financial support
  • Delivering individual support plans: Following a dedicated person-centred support plan, including key worker sessions, goal setting and ‘talk time
  • Education and Training: Researching, applying for and attending college courses, and helping to find and attend voluntary opportunities


Universal Healthy Minds are also excited to share our intention to start the 2023 financial year with expansion and a broader suite of capabilities and offerings to supporting our clients, which would include supported living and domiciliary care.
